Why?
Usually, scientists have a very busy schedule and little time to concentrate on publishing their work.
But: Publications and external funding applications are the central currency for a successful scientific career.
In November 2019, the Royal Society of Chemistry published in Nature that there are still structural barriers for scientists to publish, especially in STEM subjects and medicine.
In particular, scientists who are more often involved in committee work and teaching, as well as family commitments and care work, have very little time for writing publications or proposals for third party funding. However, these are of enormous importance for a scientific career.
In addition to the known existing disadvantages, the covid pandemic has had a negative impact on especially female researchers and their scientific careers.
How?
On our retreats you can expect:
- a structured daily schedule
- process-oriented input on writing
- a rhythm that promotes effective writing and thinking
- physical balance for creative processes
- exercises for self-strengthening and self-efficacy
- support and networking
The costs for a retreat for female scientists can be settled via DFG equity funds.
Where?
Our retreat should last at least 3 days, ideally 5 days. We work with different hotels and retreat houses.
We like to be in places that strengthen the intensity of the retreat with their close-to-nature environment.
